Remembering Grenfell

Today marks another year since the Grenfell Tower fire — a tragedy that took many lives and exposed serious failings across the housing and construction sectors.

A few weeks ago at the Echelon Improvement Partnerships (EIP) meeting in Hatfield, we had the opportunity to hear from journalist and author Peter Apps who gave an incredibly insightful talk on the systemic failings that led to Grenfell, explored in his powerful book Show Me the Bodies.

His words were a reminder that accountability, regulation, and integrity in our industry aren’t optional — they’re essential to saving lives.

As an industry, We have a responsibility to confront these issues, challenge complacency, and push for meaningful change to honour those who lost their lives, and to ensure it never happens again. 💚
