AMIP Session

Yesterday, Stephanie Harris FSIDip, Suzanne Dunn, and Tom Laws attended the second Echelon Improvement Partnerships (EIP) meeting of the year hosted by Echelon Consultancy — held at the historic Old Palace, Hatfield House, birthplace of Queen Elizabeth I.

The event focused on practical updates to the Building Safety Act, Gateway applications, and case studies — bringing together housing providers, councils, and construction professionals to share insights, raise standards, and explore ways to improve.

The opening session was delivered by Peter Apps, journalist and author of Show Me the Bodies: How We Let Grenfell Happen. Peter shared insights into the systemic failures behind the tragedy and the urgent actions needed to improve fire safety in people’s homes — ensuring it never happens again.

Tom, our Managing Director presented his thoughts about Social Value in the world of Building and Fire Safety. Highlighting how projects can deliver lasting community benefits.

It was a thought-provoking day, Thanks to AMIP for hosting another valuable conference.
